You have decided to "give it a go" or you have set yourself a short term goal.

One of the biggest errors people make is trying to bite off more than they can chew. This often means that what they are trying to change is often simply too hard or there isn't enough margin for error. Or even worse they don't really believe that they can make the change stick.

Every time you have a thought it requires a stimulus, either external or internal. This thought is then sent via nerves to a processing centre in the brain where it is interpreted. physical activity that is appropriate for that emotion or thought (physically, chemically and emotionally).

There have been numerous studies that have shown a mind-body connection and one particularly has shown a link between heart disease and pessimism. A study from the Netherlands found that people that are pessimistic are more likely to die of heart disease and other causes than those who are by nature optimistic.
