Wellness is all about taking back control of your health. So often in our modern society we have decided to palm off that responsibility to someone else.
Think about the last health decision you had to make. Did you really make it yourself, or did you just think you did? Did you weight up the pros and cons? Did you get a few different opinions? Did you do your own research? Did you actively go out and look for a differing opinion? Did you ask yourself whether the remedy felt right for you? Or did you just do it because your doctor said so, or because your wife nagged you, or because it is the way it has always been done?
It's OK if you are following a leader - that is your choice. But are you really happy with the results? Are you as healthy, as energetic, as vibrant as you want to be? Are you a healthy weight? Are you strong? Are you flexible? Are you emotionally stable?
If the answer is no to any or all of these things, then perhaps it is time to start doing things differently. Perhaps it is time to start making your own decisions (and yes, perhaps even your own mistakes). Perhaps it is time to remember that it is your body, and you have the right to look after it in any way that you see fit.
Start taking back your personal power when it comes to your health. Start making your own healthcare decisions, start asking the tough questions, and remember that no matter how many letters they have after their name, a doctor is only giving you advice. It is your right to decide whether you take it or leave it, and no one can ever take that away from you.

I love this article, and believe more and more that people need to take back control and make their own decisions about their health!
Now at 27, and after 12 months of ill health, one thing after the other, continuous Dr's visits, scans, ultrasounds, medications, nasal sprays, specialists, low energy and depression, I decided it was time to take back control of my life, my health and wellbeing! Who better to take control of your health than you!?!
Having seeked the opinions of many practitioners within the health and welllness sector, regularly practising meditation, yoga, positive thinking and completely changing my diet and feeling great for it, not to mention the 6kgs i've lost, i can truly say i've gained back control of my health.
I stopped the medication because at some stage I wondered whether THEY were actually causing my low energy, immune system and emotional instability.
I highly recommend people consider that there are alternative options out there to better your health and wellbeing, small steps can lead towards BIG things, and positive results
